Celebrating 3DWW Artists on World Art Day
“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.” – Pablo Picasso
Well, how many of you knew that today, April 15 is World Art Day? Maybe not so many, as the global celebration to “promote the development, diffusion and enjoyment of art” was first proclaimed only a few years ago (2012) by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and their partner, the International Association of Art.
Little did they know that this year most of us would be confined to our homes, and art museums and galleries around the world would be closed up tight. If you’re like me, the closest you have come to art has been chalk drawings on the sidewalk (although in these uncertain times, this is actually quite uplifting!)
Never fear, with a phone, tablet, or laptop you can still virtually visit art galleries around the world. It isn’t QUITE the same as being there, but it’s a great way to spend some time, especially today.
Fans of 3DWW, and newcomers as well, don’t have to go far. We have some great art galleries right here in our virtual world. Go to MyGallery3D.com and follow the prompts to visit galleries from Ann Brown, Don Margulis, Charles Demuth and others – without even logging in! Or, use your member or guest login to join us in 3DWW (http://3dwebworldz.com) and look for the Art button on the Teleport Directory for an even richer experience (hint, you can visit with friends this way!).
So let the celebration begin!
